[ProAudio] HX Pro was :FeralA - Recordings released encoded with Dolby A

IMHO, HX-Pro should be included in every truly high-performance analog tape recorder. However, I was less-than-impressed with the Dolby's design for 64x cassette tape duplication, so we "rolled our own" and it became part of the Capitol XDR mass-produced cassette factories. Master to finished product, these cassettes were flat 30 Hz to 18 kHz +/- 2 dB (the multi-burst is audible on every copy) and performed like chrome using inexpensive tape.  Ah, those were the days!

I sold a lot of Otari MX-10s. Every one with the HX-Pro modules installed. Made a lot of difference.
