There are several serious acousticians who have worked extensively with 
major car companies on their in-car audio. Dave Prince is one of them. I 
have distant memory of their involvement in an AES Standards Working 
Group on Loudspeakers. A visit to the AES Technical Committee website 
may prove productive.
