That’s too early for a lacquer. Lacquers started in 1934. He’s referring to a bare aluminum embossed disc, I believe. They usually play with standard styli, but conical might be better than elliptical. But YMMV.

have larger styli for lacquers, not so many have the forked gadget for stampers.
