[ProAud] Benchmark DAC2 has +3.5 dBFS headroom

On the other end of the spectrum from the Emotiva, Benchmark announced
recently the successor to their DAC1. One of its more interesting
features is that the DAC can deal with up to +3.5 dBFS, so it mitigates
intersample overloads. They seem to be using some kind of 32-bit DSP,
perhaps with more precision internally, so with some shifting, 3.5 dBFS
of headroom seems doable with 24-bit input.

Their press release also says they're sampling at 211 kHz, so they must
have found a DAC that performs well at high sample rates. And
interestingly, the DAC can also accept DSD input.

Anyway, intersample overloads have been discussed here in the past, so I
thought this may be interesting to list readers. Benchmark tends to
have more exposure in the high-end consumer audio world, and this
product seems to be more directed at the consumer world than previous
products, so perhaps the issue of intersample overs will finally get
more recognition in consumer audio.
